Eight iPhone apps now support AudioCopy and AudioPaste, allowing users to share audio between compatible apps, including FourTrack, InstantDrummer, DopplerPad, Equalizer, Reverb and more. Several more developers will be releasing their compatible apps soon.
FourTrack 3.1.1 Released 2/5/2010:
• Fixed a bug that caused a crash when opening a song when there are many songs.
• Fixed a bug that allowed the phone to sleep during wifi sync.
FourTrack 3.1 included:
• New Settings Tool: Snap to Bar or Beat
• Select a track to paste to in AudioPaste
• Fixed bug where some users were unable to AudioPaste
The FourTrack 3.0 update included AudioPaste, allowing users to copy audio from the AudioCopy enabled apps above. FourTrack 3.0 also features downloadable PromoTracks (Tommy Lee, The 88, Jason McGerr, Polare, J. Ancelle and Pau Hana), 2 new MasterFX (compressor-limiter and 4-band parametric EQ), and the ability to mixdown directly on the phone.
In a recent interview with the Miami Herald, Trey Anastasio of Phish (pictured left) raved about using the iPhone for songwriting: "There's an app you can get called FourTrack. It's a multitrack studio on your phone. Writing on this thing is unbelievable. Everywhere I go, 24 hours a day, I have this functioning multitrack studio with drum machines, and you sing right into it. That's all you need."
